“I think from the beginning of my career…being in television…that was completely—it was just ridiculous, it was not me at all…Um…it’s a learning experience. That’s how I always put it. I’m very happy in the career that I’m in now, and that’s the end of the matter.”

The daughter of real estate developer of Italian descent Douglas Palermo and interior designer Lynn Hutchings, Palermo grew up between the Upper East Side, New York and Greenwich, Connecticut where she attended Nightingale-Bamford School then finally St. Luke's School, where she was on the field hockey team.
