Olivia Palermo in Oscar De La Renta for OUTNET
Since the ’50s, New York brand Oscar de la Renta has been all about classic, beautiful clothes from the feather light gowns to the feminine silhouettes. So who better to star in the Oscar de la Renta for THE OUTNET campaign than Upper East Side fashion royalty Olivia Palermo? She’s the ultimate Oscar de la Renta girl thanks to being forever polished, elegant and ridiculously glossy.
So it’s hardly surprising to see Olivia looking like absolute perfection for the collaboration. In the just-landed campaign shots, the brunette wears a floral tea dress to play with a dog as well as a white shirt to ride a bicycle, which of course has beautiful flowers in the basket.
Olivia said of the collection: ‘Oscar de la Renta is one of the most iconic, American designers that every girl dreams of wearing. Oscar’s attention to detail is simply amazing – the lines, the fabrics, the colours – he doesn’t miss a thing. His collections are full of pieces to keep and cherish forever. Everyone can feel beautiful in Oscar de la Renta.’
So what about the clothes? This is the first time Oscar de la Renta is partnering with THE OUTNET and has created an exclusive 24 piece collection which references signature Oscar designs, as they used patterns and fabrics from the Oscar archive. The perfect way to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the start of his career, no?
There are 50s inspired floral tea dresses, wide leg trousers, full skirts and silk blouses. We’re sure the bright pink floral dress will sell out as soon as the line launches on the 26th February. It’s the dream garden party frock right? Now all we need is a garden party invite and Spring to finally arrive.
The collection is also made in the same factory as the main line, but is a much lower price point starting at £245. Alex Bolen, CEO of the fashion house told WWD: ‘We have things around here that are underutilized — [such as] 40 years of patterns, fabrics and artwork that a lot of people spent time on. We thought, perhaps we can put something together in a way that is new, that doesn’t require as much development time and in an exclusive way. [But] the thing we have to be careful about is that we don’t want to dumb down our product or offer the same thing at two different prices.’
Watch Olivia Palermo star in the campaign teaser below and remember the collection hits THE OUTNET on 26th February. Just seven days to wait!
